Obituary

Willie Barry Gordon departed this life peacefully January 2, 2021.  Willie B. was born June 18, 1927 to Estella Hollis  and Isom Gordon in Pulaski County, Georgia. He received his        education in the Pulaski County school System. He was the oldest of 7 children, three of his younger sisters (Mildred, Laura and Elma) preceded him in death.  Willie left Georgia at the age of 18 to live with family members in Columbus, Ohio. He later moved to New Jersey where he resided until his retirement. After retiring he relocated to Amherst, Virginia. Being   a       spiritual man Willie joined the Angelic Baptist Church in Bayonne, New Jersey, where he sang in the Choir.  Upon relocating to Amherst he joined the First Baptist Church in 1992. He later moved from Amherst to live with his daughter in Marietta, Georgia in 2007.
 
He married Nannie Rose in 1952 and the couple became the proud parents of three children Beverly Gordon (Fred),   Evelyn Barkley (Ron) and Barry Gordon (deceased). This union was blessed  with five grandchildren, Hanna Barkley, Jordan Barkley, Jesse Barkley (deceased), Evan Dunham, and Maxwell Dunham.
 
Willie Gordon leaves to cherish his memories a sister and two brothers; Nancy Thompson (Leon) of Warner Robins, Georgia,  Anthony Love (Miriam) of Fayetteville, Georgia, and Curtis Love of Cochran, Georgia.  The very loved Willie B. (Tony) leaves to cherish his memories sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
