Willie James Kendrick
December 19, 1966 – June 24, 2020
Willie James Kendrick was born on December 19, 1966 to the late Eula Maud Watkins and the
late James Edward Rice. He attended the Houston County school system in Perry, Georgia, and
he graduated from Perry High School in 1987. After graduation, Willie continued his pursuits
into the work force. Through the years, he worked in car detail and mechanics for Wayne
Morris Ford and Hamby car dealerships. In addition, he spent time employed as a service tech
for the Bibb company and a lead production tech for Tyson Foods.
On July 31, 2009 Willie married his high school sweet-heart, Janet Williams. Prior to their union,
Janet had given birth to their only son, Tyler D. Kendrick. It was no secret that Willie cherished
them both more than mere words could ever say. If you had the pleasure of knowing Willie,
then you also know that he really enjoyed time spent making special memories with his family
and friends. He was blessed with the gift of gab, so he rarely ever met a stranger. He was a
good guy with a kind heart, and to know him, was to love him.
On June 24, 2020, Willie James Kendrick left this earthly world behind. He did not go gentle
into that good night. He fought to stay with his family and friends, but his declining health
made that fight an impossible battle to win. Willie’s love for and devotion to his family and
friends left an imprint on our hearts that no amount of time will ever erase. All of us loved him
so dearly, and when he took his final breath, a part of us all went with him. We will cherish our
memories of him for the rest of our lives.
Left to cherish his memory are: his devoted and loving wife, Janet Williams; his one and only
son, Tyler D. Kendrick; a multitude of sisters and brothers: Betty Kendrick, Edward James Rice,
Daren Kendrick, Annette Baldwin (Ervin), Donia Kendrick (Delorie) and Reginald Kendrick; a host
of loving aunts and uncles: Dollie Vance, Mary E. Lester, Mary Arnold (Eugene), Bernice Askew,
Rosa Rice, Joe E. Rice (Betty Jo), three devoted sisters in law: Roselyn Williams (David),
Gwendolyn Felder (Larry Sr.), and Deidre Williams-McEady (Timothy), a devoted childhood
friend: Scottie Atkinson, and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
