Celebration of Life
Each of us is unique and has a special story to tell. As we celebrate the life of Rose Brown-Ford,
let’s focus on her special story with this personal and meaningful tribute.
Rose’s legacy began on February 23, 1936 in Peach County, Georgia. She was born to the
parentage of the late Willie and Ora Neal Brown. She is preceded in death by a husband, Jessie
Ford, a brother, Jessie Willie Brown and three sisters, Mattie Ruth Smith, Betty Jean Radford and
Alice Lee Brown. She transitioned on August 16, 2020 at her family’s home in Perry, Ga.
Rose grew up in Peach County and matriculated through the Houston County School System.
Very early on Rose’s parents instilled in her the importance of always putting God first. So it
was no surprise that Rose would follow her parent’s footsteps in joining the New Smyrna Baptist
Church at a very tender age to follow Christ. Once a member, Rose began her tedious journey in
God’s Kingdom. Rose has been very diligent and served faithfully until her death.
That same dedication and diligence from church was apparent in Rose’s professional career as
well. Rose was a faithful employee of The Church Home of the Aged, Autumn Terrace Senior
Living Facility and was able to retire after years of service at Summerhill Nursing Home.
Rose was a former member of the Skylite Club. She loved shopping, traveling and spending time
with family and friends. She was a very devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
To know Rose was to love Rose.
Rose leaves to cherish her loving memory her children, Vernice (Felton), Larnette (Marcus),
Michael, Alfred (Debra), Alfonzo (Curry) and two grandchildren that she raised from little girls,
Vulandria and Mornisha (Taimell); grandchildren, Larsheika, Anidorra, Natalie, Duranzo, Latifha,
