Mr. Lucius Johnson entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins, GA.
Mr. Lucius Buster Johnson AKA “Big Luke” and “Pops” was born on June 11, 1951, in Perry, Georgia. “Big Luke” was the second oldest of six children born to the late Roosevelt Johnson and late Carrie Oliver. “Big Luke” departed this life on Friday October 29, 2021 at the hospital in Perry, Georgia after a brief illness.
“Big Luke,” as he was affectionately called, attended Houston County Training School where he played football and graduated. “Big Luke,” relocated to Bronx, NY in hopes to establish a new life. “Big Luke” obtained his CDL and started his career as a short and long-distance truck driver; he later retired and settled down in his hometown, Perry, Georgia.
“Big Luke,’’ was preceded in death by his eldest sister Willie Louise of Perry, Georgia,
a brother Clifford Oliver of Perry, Georgia; two grandchildren Jasmine and Jhalil and one great grandson Corey.
“Big Luke,” leaves to cherish his precious and loving memories to:
his four sons, Lucius B Staten (Patricia) of Columbia, SC; Du’Shun N Staten (Toya) of Fairfax, SC; Sheridan of Perry, GA, and Carlos Staten (LeLe) of GE; two daughters, Dawn Staten Drakeford(Thomas) of Fayetteville, NC and Kim D. Brown of Jacksonville Florida; 29 grandchildren and11 great grandsons; three living brothers; Thaddeus N. Oliver of Perry, GA, Marvio Oliver of Perry, GA; Ricky Oliver of GE; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
