Wendell Vance was born June 25,1958 to Mark and Lula Vance who preceded him in death. Wendell grew up in the Old Field Community of Perry and was known to his family and friends as " Win Bud".
He was a graduate of Perry High School where he participated in various sports such as basketball, football, and baseball. Baseball was his favorite of the three sports and in 1975 he attended the Atlanta Braves Baseball Camp in Orlando, Florida. He also attended Warner Robins Vocational / Technical School where he mastered many skills. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a former employee of the Georgia National Labor Association.
Later in his life, he accepted Christ into his life and became a member of New Hope Baptist Church under the guidance and direction of Pastor Dennis Harden.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories, one son, Wendell Vance, Jr., Byron, Ga; five brothers, Sandford Vance, Cordele, Ga; Charles Vance, New York, N.Y.; Harrell Vance, Jonesboro, Ga; James Vance, Atlanta, Ga; Michael Vance, also of Atlanta, Ga; three sisters, Ann (Herman) Bulter, Riverdale, Ga; Brenda (Michael) Smart, Sarasota, Fla; Teresa Jackson, Byron, Ga, one sister-in-law, Jennie Vance, (the late Mark Vance Jr.).three Aunts Marie Johnson, Annie Ruth Vance, both of Perry and Mattie Rogers of Warner Robins, a devoted cousin Betty Rogers, a devoted friend, Anderson Willis, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
