Mr. Steven Jerome Napier Sr. was born May 9, 1960 in Perry, GA to the parentage of the late Lewis Napier Sr. and Minnie Lee Napier.
At an early age he joined Greater Union Baptist Church. He attended the public schools of Houston County and graduated from Houston County High School in 1979. Upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Army where he was given the nickname "The Chief" by his cohorts, a name that followed him throughout his military career and beyond. He served his country in Iraq, Desert Storm, Hawaii, Korea, and the Army Reserves for three years and served twenty years in the National Guard.
Upon completion of his military service, he was gainfully employed at Robins Air Force Base for fifteen years, and later Gilmer Warehouse and Walmart.
On May 14, 2019, "The Chief' said his last goodbye, he was gone before we knew it. One day we will understand why. So goodbye for now. We know we will see you again. Remember the gift of love he gave us and trust that in His time, we will hold our loved one again, in our Heavenly Home Divine.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Napier Jr., sisters Gloria Napier, Mildred Napier, Elizabeth Releford, and Lillian Williams.
His memory will forever be cherished by his children: Shemeka Napier of Warner Robins, Ga., Steven (Valeria) Napier, Jr., Daniel Napier, Mario Napier, Cokiya Grisset, all of Boston, MA; Rosheca Napier of Perry, GA; devoted companion: Roxanne Lawson: brothers:Robert (Lavada) Napier of Perry, GA; Elijah Napier of Byron, GA; Eugene Napier of Colorado Springs, CO; sisters: Minnie Ford and Mary Hodges both of Fort Valley, GA; brother-in-law:James Ford of Fort Valley, GA, ,sister-in-law: Ruby Napier of Perry, GA, a host of grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
