Saletha was born September 8, 1954. She was the youngest of twelve children born to the late James and Sarah Green. She accepted Christ at an early age. She joined Davis Hill Baptist Church and was baptized under the leadership of Reverend J. J. Jordan. She received her education in the Houston County School System, graduating from Central Islip High School, Long Island, New York. She attended Suffolk Community College and received an Early Childcare Certificate. She worked for the State of New York for many years.
In 1974, she married her childhood sweetheart, Ricky Dinkins. Two sons were born to this union. Saletha had a deep love for her family. She enjoyed cooking. Her specialty was peach cobbler. She enjoyed her life. In 2011, she vacationed with her family in Freeport, Bahamas located in the West Indies.
She was preceded in death by her parents James and Sarah Green, son Ricky, Jr., brothers Curtis, Horace, Edward, Hoslyn and sister Irene.
Left to cherish her memories are husband, Ricky Dinkins; son, Rahshaun; two loving and devoted grandchildren, Daguan and Quanya Dinkins; four sisters Ella Glover and Betty Harris, Atlanta, GA. Sarah Norwood and Mary Robinson, Long Island, NY; one brother, J. C. Green, Perry, GA; four sisters-in-law, Carrie Green, Voncile (Eddie) Radford, Mylann Johnson, Byron, GA, Rose Hensil, Long Island, NY; one God-sister, Laveta Malloy; God-brothers , Ken Quales and Cleveland Gamble; one aunt Annie M. Carswell; one uncle, Jimmie Green, Perry, GA; and a hosting of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
