Rosetta Releford was born to the late Madison Holmes and Fannie Rump Holmes (stepmother Lillie Holmes) on November 29, 1925 in Marshallville, Georgia. She entered eternal rest on March 23, 2018, in Goochland, Virginia.
At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She joined Mount Zion C. M. E. Church in Perry, Georgia where she was a faithful member. She was educated in Houston County Schools. She worked at Fort Stewart Army Base and was a retiree from Warner Robins Air Force Base.
She married Louis Releford in 1947. From their union they had four children, three sons and one daughter.
Rosetta was preceded in death by three brothers; Sam, Ed, and Ulysses Holmes. She leaves to cherish her memory; three sons, Superintendent Lewis Releford, Jr. (Angela) of Warner Robins, Georgia; Ronnie Releford (Rudine) of Fairburn, Georgia; Martin Releford (Gerralyn) of Covington, Georgia; one daughter, Vickie Jackson (James) of Goochland, Virginia; three sisters, Annie Lou Sturkey of Perry, Georgia, Stella Mae Kaigler (Herman) of Warner Robins, Georgia, Olivia Smith (Emmett) of Warner Robins, Georgia, one brother, Madison Holmes of Miami, Florida; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
