The late Rafe and Gertrude Green were blessed on October 19, 1949 with a baby girl, Roberta Green. She was born in Hawkinsville, Georgia. Roberta received her education in Houston County School System. At an early age she recognized the need for Christ in her life and accepted Him as her Lord and Savior. She joined Free Providence Baptist Church and was baptized. Later in life she moved to Atlanta, Georgia. There she became a member of Dixon Grove Baptist Church, Atlanta, Georgia.
Roberta was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Mr. Henry Lewis Spivey. To this union three children were born, Rafe, Rodney, and Tracey.
She was always full of life. She loved having fun with her family and friends. She loved dancing and music. She was mostly known for her expertise in cooking. Roberta was a supervisor at Henris Bakery Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia. After 25 years of service, she retired in 2012.
On Saturday, April 7, 2018, Roberta Spivey was called from her earthly labor to a well deserved rest. She was preceded to a well deserved rest. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rafe and Gertrude Green and her son, Rodney Spivey.
She leaves to cherish her memories; two sons: Rafe K. (Erma) Green of Cochran, GA and Tracy D. (Stephanie) Spivey of Perry, GA; one daughter: Cassandra “Sandy” (Tim) Young of Melbourne, FL; two sisters: Rosa Johnson of Hawkinsville, GA and Alberta Milton (Jimmy) of Miami, FL; one grandchild; Rasheema Green; one great grandchild, Jayden Green of Warner Robins, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
