“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV)
Mrs. Mae Pearl Engram was born to the parentage of the late Rev. Johnnie Scott and Malissie Small on Fort Valley, Georgia. She entered this world on June 18, 1947 and took her heavenly flight on Sunday, July 14, 2019 while viewing the majestic Franklin Mountains from her bed at the Providence Transmountain Hospital in El Paso, Texas. At her bedside was her soulmate and husband of 52 years; Wilbert Arnold Engram, oldest son Wilbert Engram, Jr. (Latonya Walker) and via tele-media was her children (Patricia, Veronica, Monterris, Latonya) and grandchildren.
At an early age Mae Pearl accepted Christ into her life and became a member of Mathis Chapel Baptist Church. Her love for her children and grandchildren made her the model parent and grandparent to her immediate family and to countless other families she interacted with at Summerhill and the Church Home where she provided care giver services for over 45 years. She treasured life and embraced everyday with the vigor and vitality expected from a superwoman. Unmatched was infectious smile and laughter we all came to appreciate and are now left mystified by its absence.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Johnny Scott, Walter Scott, James Scott, Edward Scott; sister Martha Scott; sister-in-laws Burline Spicer, Katy Adkison, and mother-in-law Mildred Poole.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband Wilbert Engram, five children Wilbert E. (Tonya) Engram Jr. of El Paso, TX, Veronica E. Engram of Perry, GA, Monterris L.
