Lillie Bell “ Til Mae” Bass departed this life Wednesday, December 26, 2018 after a lengthy illness at the Perry Hospital. Lillie Bell was born to the parentage of the late Rayfield and Lillie Mae Johnson on August 19, 1953. She attended the Houston County Training School and was a housekeeper for the Red Gable Inn, Perry, Georgia. Lillie Bell accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Martha Ann Baptist Church later joining Free Providence Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor David McLeod, Sr where she served faithfully on various auxiliaries until her health began to fail.
Lillie Bell “Til Mae” was married in holy matrimony to Deacon Shep Bass on December 22, 2000. She is preceded in death by two brothers, Frankie Johnson and Fred Martin.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her devoted husband Shep Bass; two sons, Forest (Anita) Johnson; Antorio (Richelle) Johnson; five grandchildren; siblings: Johnny Ray Johnson (Patricia), Johnny B. Johnson (Kisha), Bruce Johnson (Cassandra), Marie Alice Waters (Roger), Minnie Carswell (Eddie B.), Dianne Adkison (Tracy), Bobby Johnson, Hattie Johnson, and Ruby Simmons(Monroe). An aunt, Mary Kendrick; an uncle Willie Davis. Three stepdaughters, three stepsons, 14 step grandchildren, 9 great grands a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A very devoted caregiver and grandson she called her “own” Antrevius Jones.
