Mr. Johnnie Kennedy Farms, Sr. was born February 11, 1964 in Newark, New Jersey to the late Lawyer Farms and Charity Winslow-Farms.
Johnnie graduated from Perry High School in 1983. He was well known for his great football talent where he wore the #55 proudly and also for his comical spirit. He earned the name “Hacksaw 55”. He always brought joy and laughter to all that knew him as he never met a stranger. After high school, he attended Fort Valley State College where a major injury forced him to leave. He later became employed with the Kellwood Company in Perry, GA until the company closed around 1996. He held several jobs which included Perdue Farms where he retired from once his health begin to fail in 2003.
In 1993 he met Joyce Gilbert-Farms. They were united in matrimony on December 10, 1999 until God called him home on October 5, 2019. He was preceded in death by his sisters Daisy Farms, Ozella Askew, Eura Watkins-Powell, Mary Farms and a brother Stanley Farms.
Left to cherish his loving memories are his wife, Joyce Farms, children Johnnie K. Farms Jr., Jaron Farms, Jacquez Farms, Jasmine Farms, and Jamaree Farms, three grandchildren Mason, Morgan and Jayshon Farms. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters Larry Farms, Charlie Farms, (Newark, New Jersey) Timmie Farms, Elizabeth West, and Linda McGarr (Augusta, Ga). mother-In- law Ednool Gilbert-Alford; one aunt, Irma Winslow, two uncles, Reuben Winslow and Jack Winslow; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other sorrowing dear friends.
