The Life Story of

Fletcher Douglas Harley


Fletcher D. Harley, SFC (Ret) son of Frances D. Channer and the late Eugene Augusta Harley was born December 2, 1957 in Osceola County and graduated from St. Cloud High School, Class of 1975. After graduating he realized his responsibility to his country and joined the US Army until his retirement in 1995, with over 20 years of active service.

During his tours in the military, Fletcher was awarded the Army Good Conduct Medal (7th award), Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (7th Award), Presidential Unit Citation (Army-Air Force), Valorous Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Army Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon (2nd award), and the Expert Marksman Qualification Badge. His Primary Specialties was 19K4H B8 M1 Abram Crewman, Tank Commander to include Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, First Sergeant, and Equal Opportunity Leader. Upon retiring from the military, he attended Valencia College in Orlando, Florida and worked as a truck driver for the Air Gas Company. 

He enjoyed fishing, reading the bible and entertaining family and  friends, He always had to be the life of the party.

Fletcher was preceded in death  by his Father- Eugene A. Harley, his Grandparents, Arthur and Leatha Mae Harley, Daughter- Jamila Lakish Harley, Brother- Eugene Augusta Harley, and Niece- Keshia Stallworth

On Sunday, September 2, 2018 , he made his transition from life to life eternal.

Fletcher leaves to cherish his precious memories to Four daughters: Namika L. Harley of Red Springs, NC., Iesha King (Brandon Wesley), Goodyear, AZ., Me'chelle R. Harley (Raven TuTu Gillespie),  Fredericksburg,VA., Shytina T. Harley, Kathleen,GA. One son: Olajuwon R.Hines-Harley, Columbus, MS. Mother: Frances D.Channer, Orlando, FL. Three sisters:Letha Stallworth (Harold), Kissimmee, FL., Theresa A. Harley and Alice J. Harley, Orlando, FL. Three Brothers: Eugene N. Harley,  Atlanta,GA., Bobby L. Harley (Deborah) and Ricky V. Harley(Denese), Orlando,FL. Six Grandchildren: Jheydin D. Russell-Harley- Red Springs, NC.,  Myah R. Gillespie, Malik J. Gillespie, Fredericksburg, VA., Zhanea-yenaiv King, Armone Wesley, Jhaunyah Wesley, Brandon R. Wesley, Goodyear, AZ. Uncle & Aunt: Edward Wells, Orlando, FL.and Rose King, Augusta, GA. His Dreadnought brothers: Tim Oxner, Christopher Winters, Steve Light and Greg Fontenot. A very devoted ex-wife Clestine King Harley, Kathleen, GA. A host of nieces, nephew, cousins, other relatives and friends.
