Fannie Stripling LesterAugust 15, 1938 ~ January 3, 2017 (age 78)
God in His own way makes more beautiful the world in which we live. He saw fit to share with us one of His great creations, Mrs. Fannie Pearl Stripling Lester. A precious life closed Tuesday January 3, 2017 when Fannie Stripling Lester “Pad” answered the Heavenly Father’s summons . Whereas God shall wipe all tears from their eyes and there shall be no more death neither sorrow nor pain.
Fannie was born on August 15, 1938 to the late Mr. Thomas Stripling and the late Susie Goss. She attended Houston County School System. As a child she accepted Christ and joined the New Mount Olive Baptist Church in Elko, Georgia. In her love of service to God ’ s people and her church she served faithfully on the Usher's Board.
Later in life, she met and married Arthur James Lester Sr. on March 20, 1953. To this union five children were born, four of which preceded her in death. True to her love of serving people and helping those in need, she became self-employed as a home health caregiver, serving many families in the community and surrounding areas.
Fannie was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur James Lester Sr., her children, Donella, Carolyn, James and Stanley Lester; her siblings : John D. , Roosevelt, Clinton, T. S. Stripling, and sister , Bertha Wooten.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her son, Arthur James Lester Jr. (Gale) , Perry, GA; her devoted sister, Susie Brockett, Warner Robins, GA; her sister -in -law: Phyliss Stripling, Fort Valley, GA, Julia Stripling, Perry, GA; thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great -grandchildren: one great great grand; one grandson she raised Carlos Lester; devoted friends, Gayle Borah, Betty Stubbs, Joyce Griffin, Lula Batchelor, Shirley Mayes, Jacqueline Lester, Carrie Gary, Daren Kendrick, Angela Green ; devoted and special niece , Shirley Lester, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
