June 26, 1938 ~ April 3, 2017 (age 78)

The Piano Brothers

Deacon Jimmie Lee Paige was born on June 26, 1938 to the parents of late Jessie Paige and Sylvester Laidler Davis.   He was a native of Perry Georgia and a graduate of the Houston County Training School.  On August 22, 1960, he married Queen Ester Thomas and they were happily married for fifty-six (56) years and were blessed with four children.

He joined the New Mount Olive Baptist Church at a very young age. During his tenure, he served as Deacon, Chairman of Deacons and taught Sunday school.  He had a passion for teaching the word of God.

Jimmie joined the United States Navy on June 17, 1957 and served until June 16, 1963.   Shortly after leaving the military, Jimmie started working at Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, Georgia.  He worked in building 640 as an Electronic Analyst and retired with 36 years of Federal service.  In his retirement, he had a passion for working on small engines, lawnmowers, small tractors and he had a passion for photography/ video recording.   Jimmie was known as a jack-of-all-trades because “if it was broke, he could fix it”.  His grandchildren knew him as “the smartest man in the world” and felt there was nothing he could not accomplish.

His siblings Mary Wallace Martin, Solomon Wallace, Ada Mae Paige Thompson and David Wallace Sr. preceded him in death. Jimmie leaves a devoted and loving wife, Queen Esther Thomas Paige, three daughters, Valerie Paige Pickard (Ulysses), Marcella Paige Little, Phyllis Paige Toliver (Harvey) and one son, Ronald Sheldon Paige (Lisa). He also leaves 9 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  In his final days at the Summerhill Nursing home facility, Jimmie ‘s favorite phase was “I am just waiting on the Lord”
