Mr. Glenn Dell Davis, was the son of the late Dave Davis and the late Leona Prejean, of Beaumont, TX. He was born on November 16, 1948. God called him home on Monday, June 26, 2017 after a brief illness at Houston Medical Center, Warner Robins, GA. Glenn accepted Christ into his life at an early age. He attended several churches in the Middle Georgia Area. He was a graduate of Herbert High School, Beaumont, TX and a college graduate of McKendree University, Lebanon, IL receiving a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. He was also an entrepreneur, as he owned and operated H&G Texas Style BBQ, Davis Trucking Company, Kirby vacuum cleaner salesman, and a former member of the Houston County Transportation Department.
He retired from the Air Force as a Master Sergeant employed as an Air Transportation Supervisor at the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center at Warner Robins AFB, GA. He served in the United States Air Force from 1967-1988 having served 21 years. Glenn served in Vietnam and was also stationed in Okinawa, Germany, and Scott AFB, IL. Many awards and accolades were given to Glenn as he served his country. Among these were the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.
He was an avid golfer and served as a Marshall at International City Golf Club for many years and on a daily basis. Glenn was a member of the Ebony Drivers of Middle Georgia and participated in many golf tournaments of which he won many trophies and awards. "Golf was the love of his life", and he showed it on a daily basis, as you could always find him at International City Golf Club in Warner Robins, GA.
Left to cherish his memories are two daughters and one son: Sherry (Anthony) McDonald, of O'Fallon, IL; Tiffany Livatt (Torin) Thomas; of Stafford, VA; Corey Davis, Sr. of Woodbridge, VA, and one sister, Delores Thomas of Beaumont, TX. Several siblings preceded him in death: Rosa Lee Broussard, Dave Davis, Jr., and Henry Wayne Thomas. Seven grandchildren: Alexandria Brown, Jordan Livatt, Jaelin Livatt, Corey Davis, Jr., Cameron Davis, Michaela Davis, and Brianna Davis. Three great grandchildren: Carter, Collin, and Camden Brown. Two nieces: Tammy Harmon and Paula Thomas. Nephews: Raymond and Michael Broussard, Kenton Davis, William Todd and Damon Walker. Nephews preceding him in death: Keith Walker, Henry Thomas, Jr. and Theodore Thomas. A very special friend and companion, Lossie Glover of Perry, GA. Several other associates and friends.
